Founded in 1893 Horsham Museum has a large and varied collection which reflections the stories of Horsham District. It is fully accredited and supported by Friends of Horsham Museum and an active volunteer team.
The Role
Family Activity Volunteers use practical activities and stories to inspire young people and get them trying something new.
The role will include:
Leading activities for children, young people, and their parents/carers at weekends and school holidays.
Developing a programme of activities to draw out stories from the museum collection as well as seasonal events and topical activities.
Working as part of a small friendly team to set up for sessions, as well as using and maintaining resources and equipment appropriately, and ensuring that it is returned to its proper storage place after use.
Activities include:
Simple crafts and arts tasks;
Trails;
And other educational activities related to the museum.
What skills do I need?
Enthusiasm for leading hands-on activities that get children and families to explore and learn about the museum art gallery and garden as well as other seasonal or topical subjects.
You will enjoy working as part of a small friendly team who interact with children and young people.
