Family Activity Volunteers use practical activities and stories to inspire young people and get them trying something new.

The role will include

  • Leading activities for children, young people, and their parents/carers at weekends and school holidays.
  • Developing a programme of activities to draw out stories from the museum collection as well as seasonal events and topical activities.
  • Working as part of a small friendly team to set up for sessions, as well as using and maintaining resources and equipment appropriately, and ensuring that it is returned to its proper storage place after use.

What skills do I need?

Enthusiasm for leading hands-on activities that get children and families to explore and learn about the museum art gallery and garden as well as other seasonal or topical subjects.

Activities include

  • simple crafts and arts tasks,
  • trails
  • and other educational activities related to the museum.

You will enjoy working as part of a small friendly team who interact with children and young people.

We will be required to complete a DBS check prior to volunteers commencing this role.

Availability Details

Our family activities will mainly take place at weekends and school holidays. This role is a new role, and not expected to commence until March 2022.
