Neighbourhood Watch Association Treasurer

The Horsham Neighbourhood Watch association (HNHWA) covers the entire Horsham District Council (HDC) area, with 'watch schemes' in many communities.

We are seeking a well organised individual to take on the role of Association's Treasurer to take care of an oversee the financial side of the association. The role of Treasurer is not an onerous one. 

You will be responsible for maintaining full and proper accounts of the Association's expenditure and finances.

The main tasks include

(i) maintaining the balance sheet records for each financial year,

(ii) managing the Association's bank account, including account signatory records, cheque book(s), bank statements etc.,

(iii) maintaining a full and complete audit record of expenditure and supporting receipts, invoices,

(iv) arrange for payment of out-of-expenses,

(v) presenting the annual statement of accounts at the Association's AGM, and

(vi) arranging for each year's accounts to be independently verified and signed off by a suitably qualified person. The level of 'movement' on the single account is very low, perhaps up to ten (10) transactions PER YEAR.

What skills do I need?

Previous experience as a Treasurer would be beneficial, but not essential.

A good head for figures and basic knowledge of accounting principles

Good organisational and administrative skills;

Knowledge and experience of Spreadsheets would be useful.
