For Horsham Community Fridge
Thank you for your interest in Horsham Community Fridge. Just to make you aware this enquiry is to initially connect you with us; following this we will provide details of how to apply for the role formally.
Who Are We?
We are a young organisation, made up of local people who all share a common interest in preventing food from ending up in landfill. We are volunteer run, which means we need people who can give a little of their time, on a fairly regular basis to help in a variety of roles.
The Role:
Would you like to join us as a Surplus Food Collector?
Collect food from the Horsham and surrounding supermarkets and shops, deliver it to our base and sort / label the food in preparation for the food distribution sessions. Most collections are on weekday evenings from 20:00 - 22:00. The rota is decided monthly and volunteers can choose when they are available to collect, but ideally we'd like a commitment of one or more times per month.
What support is there?
We have a dedicated admin team made up of volunteers who provide support on a regular basis. Food safety training is provided, as well as practical instruction for collecting and sorting food in line with our policies. You'll be paired with a buddy for your trial sessions.
