Who Are We?

The Shelley Memorial Project is a Horsham-based group, run by volunteers who are enthusiastic about the arts and our cultural heritage. The Shelley Memorial Project has been established to celebrate and promote the life and work of the great romantic and radical poet, Percy Bysshe Shelley, Horsham's most famous citizen and one of West Sussex's most famous literary figures. The Project also highlights Shelley's connection with Horsham, the town most associated with his birthplace. We run poetry related events, have active social media and a website that promotes Shelley, our activities, local cultural events. We are working with Horsham District Council to achieve our objective of delivering a public artwork to commemorate and celebrate Shelley's Connection with Horsham. With this in mind we are involved with fundraising activities.
