For Friends of Horsham Park
Friends of Horsham Park are setting up a weekly volunteer group for gardening and conservation activities. This is in partnership with HDC’s Parks and Countryside team and is supported by Denne Neighbourhood Council. The aim is to bring more colour (subtle not garish!) to Horsham Park and create habitats to encourage wildlife.
Volunteers will weed, prune, cut back and divide plants in the borders and introduce new plants or bulbs where needed. Conservation projects will involve creating better habitats for wildlife and could include clearing scrub/overgrowth to replant areas with bird friendly plants for example in the Pond area.
We meet by the entrance to the Human Nature Garden, next to Jubilee car park in Horsham Park.
Everyone is welcome and no experience is necessary – it will be a great opportunity to learn from the Park’s horticultural experts and make some new friends.
Tools will be provided but please wear clothes suitable for gardening and thick-soled shoes or boots.
