Who Are We?

Radio Crawsham CIC is a local radio service dedicated to serving the communities of Crawley and Horsham. We deliver relevant, engaging, and inclusive broadcasting designed to reflect the people, places, culture, and voices of our area — because we believe truly local radio still matters.

The Role

Radio Crawsham is looking for friendly, enthusiastic volunteers to help us attend local events, promote the station and connect with communities across Crawley, Horsham and the surrounding area.

This is a flexible, mainly in-person role involving community events, promotional activities and occasional outside broadcasts. You do not need previous radio experience, as guidance and support will be provided.

Main responsibilities

The role may include:

  • Representing Radio Crawsham at community events, festivals and local activities
  • Helping set up and pack away promotional or broadcasting equipment
  • Speaking to members of the public about the station
  • Handing out flyers and promotional materials
  • Encouraging people to download our app, listen online and follow our social media pages
  • Supporting presenters during live outside broadcasts
  • Helping arrange interviews with event organisers, local groups and visitors
  • Taking photographs or short videos for station social media
  • Promoting volunteering, advertising and partnership opportunities
  • Helping develop new ideas to raise awareness of Radio Crawsham

What skills do I need?

We are looking for people who:

  • Are friendly, approachable and confident speaking to the public
  • Have an interest in radio, events or the local community
  • Are reliable and able to work well as part of a team
  • Can represent the station in a positive and professional way
  • Have good knowledge of Crawley, Horsham or the surrounding area
  • Are willing to attend occasional daytime, evening or weekend events

Previous experience in events, promotions, community work, marketing or broadcasting would be helpful, but it is not essential.
